Modified Passenger Van Disclaimer: Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn may modify and/or coordinate the modification of Mercedes-Benz vans into a permanent passenger configuration in accordance with applicable New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NY DMV) requirements, including 15 NYCRR § 106.3(d). Under these requirements, a modified van may qualify for Passenger registration when it has at least one side window behind the driver and at least one permanently installed seat or set of seat fittings behind the driver, or qualifying permanently installed camping equipment behind the driver. If passenger seating is installed, seatbelts that meet applicable New York State Occupant Restraint Law requirements must also be installed. These modifications must be permanent, and NY DMV requires a vehicle weight slip for modified vehicles.
Registration classification, Passenger plate eligibility, required documentation, inspection, and registration are subject to applicable NY DMV requirements and determinations. Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn does not guarantee that NY DMV will approve a vehicle for Passenger registration, issue Passenger license plates, or determine that a vehicle is eligible for use on any particular roadway or parkway. Customers should confirm current registration, plate, and roadway requirements directly with NY DMV.
